After inheriting Drills In Space from his father, Frank Goohey II signed the business deal that incorporated Drills In Space to mGlobe, a newly-founded subsidiary of Globe. After the merger, Sludge was discovered, and with it, the discovery of its imminent collision.
Frank and the rest of his team quickly flew to intercept it, and as they arrived, it was Frank who first discovered the YYY. The landing was televised, lending to Frank's infamy.
